AccessIbility & INCLUSION STATEMENT
Our Commitment to an Inclusive Festival Experience
At our festival, we recognise the importance of creating an environment that is welcoming and accessible to all attendees, regardless of ability, age, or family circumstance. Our commitment to inclusion is a priority of our event planning, now and in the future. We are continuously working to ensure everyone can fully enjoy their visit.
Encouraging Accessibility-Friendly Vendors
Our aim moving forward is to actively encourage all vendors participating to adopt accessibility-friendly practices. This includes ensuring that stalls are easily navigable for people with mobility challenges offering clear signage, and lowered service areas.
Mobility Tracking Enhancements in 2026
We are excited to announce that 2026 will see an increase in our mobility tracking capabilities. This improvement will assist our attendees with mobility requirements to access the sunflower fields and displays.
Buggy’s
We will see an increase in our festival buggy’s. The buggy’s are available to assist attendees by providing convenient transport from the carpark to the main entrance. Our experienced drivers give special consideration to attendees with disabilities and elderly guests, offering a drop-off service directly to our special event areas to make their experience as enjoyable as possible.
Improved Toilet Facilities
To further support accessibility and family friendliness, we are increasing the number and quality of our toilet facilities. In 2026, there will be additional accessible toilets designed for people with disabilities, as well as family-friendly options to assist parents and carers.
Expanded Shaded Areas for Aged and Disabled Attendees
We understand the importance of comfortable rest areas, particularly for aged attendees and those with disabilities. In response to feedback, we are expanding our shaded seating in 2026.
Companion Cards
We are proud to support the Companion Card program. Attendees who hold a valid card are welcome to bring their companion or carer to assist them during their visit. When accompanying a paid ticket holder, companions/carers receive complimentary entry. Please present your Companion Card to our friendly gate staff upon arrival.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Inclusion and accessibility are Kalbar Sunflower Festival’s ongoing priority. We welcome feedback from our community on how we can continue to improve.
