The 2026 Kalbar Sunflower Festival will take place from 1-3 May 2026.
Kalbar Sunflower Festival is now calling applications for reliable and friendly volunteers to assist us over the festival.

Volunteer Positions Available
Cut Your Own Flowers – Welcoming and monitoring the cutting fields, give education on how to use cutters, checking and bunching flowers
Flower Stall – This is a physical volunteer role – involves working with an amazing lead and her team cutting and bunching our beautiful sunflowers from the fields. This area will have its own rest shade tent and chairs. All volunteers working in this area will be given regular breaks.
Devonshire Tea – Welcoming visitors and escorting them to tables, assist in preparation of tea and coffee/ cleaning and setting tables, delivering tea/coffee and scones. This is a very busy area and serves a large volume of visitors
Mini Photography area helpers – escort visitors to their selected photographers, assist photographers in keeping their area updated with fresh flowers etc.
Entrance – welcoming and scanning tickets and assisting with general information
Information Ushers – Welcome and answer questions. Assist in taking photos of visitors on their phones. Friendly and keen walkers as you will be mingling throughout the festival.
Area Volunteers
Sensory Garden – welcoming, monitoring displays and taking photos of our special visitors to this area. Volunteers who have a special interest or work in the disability service would be amazing.
Photography props – we need friendly volunteers who can manage waiting lines and take photos on visitor’s phones at our most popular photographic props.
Children’s hub – This busy site requires assistants in the activity area and line monitors for face painting, petting area and assisting with craft activities.
Sunflower Stage Area– our special event areas will require monitors over 18 years to assist with welcoming and scanning of tickets.
Memorial Garden – supervision of area and selling of remembrance timber sunflowers.
